Job Description |
Uniform PolicyUniforms must be ironed and clean at all times. Each member of staff is responsible for their own uniform. If your uniform gets dirty during the day, it has to be changed, (inform your manager before going to change). Make sure that you always have a clean uniform in your locker. Your name badge, if required, is an essential part of your uniform and must always be worn. If the Uniform is companys property it will have to be returned at the end of employment. Remember on first impression you are as good as you look. Always look professional by maintaining standards set by the company. Employees must adhere to the standard grooming regulations, which are normally outlined in the companies SOP manual. In the majority of catering companies uniforms will be provided. All employees are expected to dress in a professional manner avoiding extremes of style and fashion. If you are in any doubt as to the standard of dress required, please consult your line manager. Grooming StandardsHairHair must be clean, well groomed, and neat. Braids are acceptable on women, as is long hair. In all cases hair should be worn in a professional style and where appropriate should be tied back and away from the face, to maintain a professional image. Hair accessories must be simple in style. Men must be clean-shaven and hair should be cut to a short conservative length and style. Beards and moustaches, if worn, must be kept neatly trimmed. Sideburns, if worn, must be no longer than mid-ear length. Personal hygienePersonal hygiene is essential and must be of the highest standard. Nails must be neat and clean. Nail varnish may not be worn within catering areas. Cuts and abrasions must be correctly dressed. Make up and JewelleryMake up for women should be light and fresh. Jewellery should be discreet and limited to wedding bands and sleeper earrings. Earrings must be worn in the earlobe. Ankle chains, double sets of earrings and earrings for men are not allowed. Tattoos must be covered at all times. Only employees working in low risk areas may wear watches. Name BadgeThe name badge forms an integral part of your dress and must be worn at all times in an easy to read position. All employees must ensure that name badges are kept in good condition. Recommended equipmentService cloth, corkscrew with knife, matches, writing materials, ordering pads. It is advisable that you keep the following in your locker: sewing kit, stain remover, shaving kit, shoe polish, second uniform, deodorant, specialised literature. Strictly prohibitedEat, drink, chew gum, lean, shout, and comb your hair, re-apply make up, private discussions, pick nose, scratch. LanguageThe first language of Blue Pudding or the country must be spoken at all times in front of customers. Pronunciation must be as clear as possible, and you should always maintain eye contact during conversation.
